Fort Chipewyan RCMP execute search warrant

Fort Chipewyan, Alta. – On September 20, 2019, Fort Chipewyan RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in Fort Chipewyan. As a result of the search, RCMP seized a firearm, methamphetamine (Crystal Meth), and an undisclosed amount of cash in Canadian currency. Two people were arrested at the residence.

Alexander Bradford Waquan (28) of Fort Chipewyan, Alberta, was arrested for outstanding warrants, and on the following charges:
• Unsafe storage of a firearm
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Production of a controlled substance
• Possession of property obtained by Crime less than $5000
• Failure to comply with conditions

Waquan was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in Alberta Provincial Court in Fort Chipewyan on November 7, 2019.

A female resident of Fort Chipewyan, Alberta, was arrested on the following charge:
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking

She was released on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in Alberta Provincial Court in Fort Chipewyan on December 5, 2019.
