UPDATE: RCMP Investigating Crash on Highway 63

UPDATE TO BELOW NOTED RELEASE:

Wood Buffalo RCMP is currently investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Hwy 63 and Fort McKay.  There have been two confirmed fatalities. One male has been transported to hospital with non life threatening injuries. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor. The southbound lane of the highway remains closed as the investigation continues.

UPDATE: RCMP Investigating Crash on Highway 63

Wood Buffalo RCMP and emergency crews are currently at the scene of a four vehicle crash north of Fort McMurray at the intersection of Highway 63 and Fort McKay. There are reported injuries but the extent at this time is unknown. Highway 63 southbound and the entrance into Fort McKay will be closed for an undetermined period of time. Southbound traffic is being rerouted through the northbound lane alternating with nothbound traffic.

A further update will be made as information becomes available.
