*UPDATE* Threat at Fort McMurray Airport

On December 19, 2014, just before 12:30 p.m. Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a threat at the Fort McMurray International Airport. As a precaution the airport was evacuated. A lone male was arrested and is currently in custody for making comments in reference to a dangerous device. Threats made against the safety of an aircraft and /or its occupants are criminal code offences.

The airport has since been reopened. It was determined that the public was in no danger during this incident. The investigation is ongoing.
