Wood Buffalo RCMP arrest two in traffic stop

Fort McMurray, Alta. – On Aug. 21, 2019, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP Municipal Traffic conducted a traffic stop that led to the arrest of a male and female as well as the seizure of two firearms, two magazines, various ammunition, suspected methamphetamine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and $2,340 of Canadian currency. The pair faces 56 charges.

Steven Whitehead (34) of Fort McMurray was charged with 36 offences which include:
– Trafficking – methamphetamine
– Unauthorized possession of firearm (x4)
– Weapons possession contrary to order (x11)
– Possession of restricted firearm with ammunition without licence
– Possession of a firearm/weapon/device/ammunition in motor vehicle (x3)
– Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose (x5)
– Careless use of firearm (x4)
– Operation while prohibited (x5)
– Possession of property obtained by crime less that $5,000
– Resist/Obstruct Peace Officer

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Fort McMurray Provincial Court on Sept. 9, 2019.

Shannon O’Keefe (31) of Fort McMurray was charged with 20 offences which include:
– Trafficking- methamphetamine
– Unauthorized possession of firearm (x5)
– Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose (x5)
– Possession of restricted firearm with ammunition without licence
– Possession of firearm at unauthorized place (x4)
– Careless use of firearm (x4)

She was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in Fort McMurray Provincial Court on Sept. 10, 2019.
