Wood Buffalo RCMP assist Keyano College with a Practice Lock Down Drill

Fort McMurray, Alberta – On March 27, 2018, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP assisted Keyano College with a practice lock down drill. Through cooperation with the staff and students of Keyano College, the RCMP were able to complete a successful lock down drill. The college is proactively taking steps to ensure the safety of the students and staff of Keyano College.

The RCMP take these practice lock down drills seriously in efforts to provide assistance for a safer community. The RCMP is mandated to enhance public safety, which includes investigating and prosecuting those who commit criminal acts, ensuring citizens feel welcome and safe in their community.

If any students or staff members were affected by this practice lock down drill, services are available at Keyano College. We respect your patience and understanding while we went through the protocols with the staff at the college. The RCMP would like to thank the staff and students of Keyano College for being proactive in their safety procedures.
