Wood Buffalo RCMP CRU execute warrants resulting in additional charges

Fort McMurray, AB – The Wood Buffalo RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) was patrolling an identified area with a higher crime rate in Fort McMurray, near Franklin Avenue and Haineault Street, around 6:00 p.m. on July 13th, 2018. A police officer observed a female in a vehicle who was believed to have outstanding warrants. RCMP officers approached the occupants of the vehicle, and confirmed the identity of the female as Tara Lee Arthurs. Tara was confirmed to have outstanding warrants for her arrest, and was subsequently arrested. Police also observed drug paraphernalia which resulted in both occupants being arrested for possession of suspected cocaine. This led to further investigation and both Tara Arthurs and Jayden McInroy were found in possession of stolen Social Insurance Number cards and Drivers Licenses, one of which had been attempted to be used just prior to police contact.

Tara Lee Arthurs, 39 years old, of Edmonton, Alberta is facing the following charges:
• Possession of stolen property x 2, Section 355(b) C.C.C.
• Possession of a controlled substance, Sec 4(1) C.D.S.A.
• Unlawfully possess an identity document belonging to another person x 3, Section 56.1 C.C.C.
• The outstanding warrants included uttering forged documents, and fraud x 2.
Tara Arthurs has been remanded in police custody, and will appear at the Fort McMurray Provincial Courthouse on July 30, 2018 at 9:30 a.m.

Jayden Justin McInroy, 32 years old, of Edmonton, Alberta is facing the following charges:
• Possession of stolen property x 3, Section 355(b) C.C.C.
• Possession of a controlled substance, Sec 4(1) C.D.S.A.
• Fraudulently personate another individual, Section 403(1)(a) C.C.C.
• Identity fraud, Section 402.2(1) C.C.C.
• Utter a forged document, Section 368(1)(a) C.C.C.
• Demand goods using a forged document, Section 375 C.C.C.
• Unlawfully possess an identity document belonging to another person x 4, Section 56.1 C.C.C.
• Breach of recognizance entered into before a Justice x 4, Section 145(3) C.C.C.
Jayden McInroy has been remanded in police custody, and will appear at the Fort McMurray Provincial Courthouse on August 13, 2018 at 9:30 a.m.
