Wood Buffalo RCMP investigate a shooting incident

Fort McMurray, Alta – On Jan. 8, 2019, at approximately 12:30 p.m., the Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a shooting incident in the downtown area of Fort McMurray. It is believed the incident took place between 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., near Manning Avenue and Hospital Street in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and attended to the hospital for care. No one has been arrested or charged at this time.

Police are actively investigating the matter and do not believe this was a random act.

Police are asking anyone who may have knowledge of this incident, or who may have seen anything unusual, to please contact the Wood Buffalo RCMP at 780-788-4040, or your local police. If anyone has any surveillance footage of any suspicious activity recorded, they are being asked to share the video footage with police.
