Wood Buffalo RCMP investigate animal abuse

Fort McMurray, AB: On August 18, 2018 at approximately 5:15 p.m. the Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a complaint call regarding animal abuse at a business near MacAlpine Crescent and Gregoire Drive, in Fort McMurray. A police investigation was initiated regarding a female employee causing unnecessary suffering to a dog. After completing the police investigation, the RCMP arrested 27 year old, Lesleigh Louise Russell, who is facing the following charge:

• Causing Unnecessary Suffering, Section 445.1 of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Lesleigh Russell has been released from police custody. She is to appear in the Fort McMurray Provincial Courthouse on December 5, 2018 at 1:30 p.m.
