Wood Buffalo RCMP investigate robbery – Update 1

Fort McMurray, Alta – On Jan. 16, 2019, RCMP responded to a bank robbery in the Timberlea area of Fort McMurray. Police have determined the same suspect was involved in both robberies.

On Jan. 20, 2019, Wood Buffalo RCMP charged Taetm Lucaas Moon (20) of Fort McMurray, with the following offences:
• Robbery (x2)
• Disguise with intent (x2)

Moon was remanded into custody and will be appearing in Fort McMurray Provincial Court on Feb. 25, 2019. As this matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in solving crimes within the community.

Wood Buffalo RCMP investigate robbery

Fort McMurray, Alta – On Jan. 10, 2019, at approximately 10:15 a.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a robbery at Scotiabank in the downtown area of Fort McMurray. It is believed the incident took place between 10:00-10:15 a.m. The suspect entered the location and produced a note demanding money. The male left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as:
• Male
• Approximately 5’6”
• Acne scars on his face

The suspect was wearing all black clothing.

No one was injured during this incident.
