Wood Buffalo RCMP Investigate Robbery – Update 1

Wood Buffalo RCMP: On May 16, 2018, at approximately 8:00p.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a robbery at a business on Franklin Avenue near Father Mercredi Street, in the downtown area of Fort McMurray. Additional photos of the suspect have been released and are being shared with the media. Police are requesting public assistance to help identify the male suspect involved in the robbery.

The investigation continues in relation to this incident. Anyone who witnessed this incident, or has video surveillance, is asked to contact the Wood Buffalo RCMP at 780-788-4040.

Wood Buffalo RCMP Investigate Robbery

Wood Buffalo RCMP:
On May 16, 2018, at approximately 8:00p.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a robbery at a business on Franklin Avenue near Father Mercredi Street, in the downtown area of Fort McMurray. An undisclosed amount of Canadian currency was taken from the business. The alleged male suspect left on foot, and was reported to have headed north. RCMP set up scene containment, a police dog assisted in a search of the area, and Forensic Identification attended to examine the scene. No one was injured during this incident. The suspect has not yet been located and the RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male
  • Approximately 6’ tall
  • Slim build.

The suspect was wearing:

  • A white bandana over his face
  • Blue jeans
  • Sweatshirt with a hood
