Wood Buffalo RCMP investigate theft from Jewellery store

Fort McMurray, Alberta – The Wood Buffalo RCMP Detachment is investigating a theft of jewellery from a business in the Peterpond Mall which occurred yesterday at approximately 6:00 p.m.

A male suspect entered a business and requested to look at jewellery and then fled the store and mall with the merchandise. Two 10kt gold necklaces were stolen which are valued at approximately $20,000.00. Police made extensive patrols in the area but the suspect was not located.

Further investigation revealed two other male suspects were involved in the theft as attempts were made to price and sell the necklaces a short time later at a separate location.

Descriptors of the suspects are not available at this time but an update will be provided.
