Wood Buffalo RCMP investigating man’s death

Fort McMurray, Alberta – Wood Buffalo RCMP is investigating the death of a man after detachment members responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Loutit Road last night at approximately 8:31 p.m. and arrived on scene to find a deceased adult male in the home.

Investigators from the Wood Buffalo RCMP Detachment are being assisted in the investigation by members of the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit (MCU) and its Forensic Identification Section (FIS).

The deceased is an adult male and an autopsy will be conducted at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton later this week at a date and time yet to be determined.

Police are asking that anyone who may have been in the area of 104 Loutit Road last night, and who may have seen anything unusual, to contact the Wood Buffalo RCMP Detachment.  Alternatively, individuals may pass on their information by contacting Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or by internet at www.tipsubmit.com.
