Wood Buffalo RCMP request public assistance in identifying a suspect

Wood Buffalo, Alberta – On December 26, 2017 at approximately 8:45 p.m., the Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a hold up alarm at the Mr. Liquor store on King Street, in Fort McMurray, Alberta. It was reported there was male having difficulties with the debit machine, who became verbally agitated, and aggressive. The unknown male suspect then assaulted an employee. The employee was able to defend themselves, and the suspect male then fled the store. He left the scene in a white pickup truck.

Police are continuing to investigate, and are also now reaching out to the public for assistance in identifying this suspect. There is a surveillance photo attached, and if you can identify the suspect male in the attached picture, you are asked to contact the Wood Buffalo RCMP at 780-788-4040 or call your local police.

The RCMP is mandated to enhance public safety, which includes investigating and prosecuting those who commit acts such as this, ensuring citizens feel welcome and safe in their community.
