Wood Buffalo RCMP seek assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a robbery

Fort McMurray, Alta – On Jan. 7, 2019, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a robbery at a business on Franklin Avenue near Alberta Drive in the downtown area of Fort McMurray. The suspect entered the store, brandished a knife, and demanded money. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the business. The male left on foot on Franklin Avenue.

The suspect is described as:
· Caucasian male
· Tall
· Slender build

The suspect was wearing:
· Blue coverall with yellow reflective stripes
· White hood
· Black balaclava

No one was injured during this incident.

RCMP is investigating the matter and are asking anyone who may have knowledge of this incident, or who may have seen anything unusual, to please contact the Wood Buffalo RCMP at 780-788-4040, or your local police. If anyone has any surveillance footage of any suspicious activity recorded, they are being asked to share the video footage with police.
