Wood Buffalo RCMP execute search warrant

Fort McMurray, Alta. – On August 17, 2019, the Wood Buffalo RCMP Drug Section executed a search warrant at a residence on Cowley Bay in Fort McMurray. The Drug Section was assisted by the Emergency Response Team, Crime Reduction Unit, Criminal Intelligence Unit, Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT), Police Dog Service and General Duty officers.

As a result of the search, RCMP seized firearms, ammunitions and a silencer.

Catlin Moores (34) of Fort McMurray, Alberta and two adult females were arrested at the residence. Moores was arrested for 7 outstanding warrants.

Jeffrey Derrick Hefferan (30) of Fort McMurray, Alberta is wanted on the following charges:

• Two counts of Possession of a firearm without holding a license
• Two counts of Careless use of a firearm
• Two counts of Possession of a firearm while prohibited
• Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm

Hefferan is considered armed and dangerous, the public is asked not to approach Hefferan and contact the RCMP or your local police if located.
